Electric Arc Furnace Info. System
EAF IS is an Electric Arc Furnace information system designed by the most experienced engineers, whose purpose is to register all data related to the heat, which is produced on the melting furnace such as: grade of steel, the scrap used, electrical, electrode and gas consumptions, among others.
Information is divided in several categories:
The information received from the SHS (Scrap Handling System) is registered on the EAF IS, once the operator confirms a charge is done to the heat. This way, it's easy to know the layers composition of the scrap used in the charge.
It consists on data such as: Grade of steel, Weight, electrical, electrode, and gas consumptions, temperatures, stages, shifts, and the crew assigned on each shift.
This tool consists on a registration of all the events that occur during the heat. This is a very useful application that helps analyzing the rest of the registered data.
These are received from a wide variety of analyzing spectrum equipment
It registers the periods of time in which the furnace is Turned Off during the Heat. Besides, it registers the causes of the delay.
On this Schedule, the size and weight of the heat is decided, as well as the grade of steel that will be produced. Usually, this information is received from a Level 3 system or it can be manually introduced into the EAF IS.
It registers the periods of time and numbers of heats that have been done in certain parts of the machine, such as Delta, EAF Bottom, and Roof, with the purpose of reminding when they should be changed or repaired.
