
Continuous Caster Information System
CCIS is an information system in charge of registering information regarding the steel introduced into the continuous caster machine, and the pieces produced on it. The system determines the characteristics of the produced pieces, based on the properties of the heats that were poured to the machine. Some Data and Functions registered are:
It consists on the registration of the main events, occurring during the machine's operation.
These are received from a wide variety of analyzing spectrum equipment. It informs the user, each time one of these analyses are out of specification.
It registers the periods of time in which the strands or the whole machine, are not operating. Besides, it registers the causes of the delay.
On this schedule, the number of produced pieces is registered. Besides the cutting machines, are informed about the lengths in which these pieces should be cut.
It registers the periods of time and numbers of heats that have been done in certain parts of the machine, such as tundish, ladle and molds, with the purpose of reminding when they should be changed or repaired.
